Two weeks ago was the Festa Major de Gracia. Last week it was the Festa Major de Sants. This week we head out of the city of Barcelona to the capital of the Penedes region to find our Festa Major: Vilafranca del Penedes offers a great setting for a great time for all! Wander the medieval streets that wind and find hidden treasures (the occasional Modernista building sneaks up on the unwary), decked out in full celebratory gear. Enjoy the parades, the music and the general fetivies less than an hour from Barcelona! Now through Friday take the opportunity to get out and celebrate with the locals, and while you're there, don't forget to visit the wineries of the region!
