What better way to shake off those winter blues than with some sumptious snacks? If grastronomical delights and creative cuisine sound like a good way to ring in the new year, Madrid is the place to be this month. The city is hosting two food fairs: the GastroFestival and the Madrid Fusion.
The GastroFestival is an exciting adventure in cooking, offering visitors to the city the chance to taste some of the best haute cuisine around in everything from Michelin-starred restaurants to some of the best tapas bars in the city. There will also be tastings of wines, olive oils, cheesses, and much more. For three short days (january 26-28) the Madrid Fusion fair will bring together top chefs from around the world to share their newest ideas and creations.
Madrid is a city which is rightly known for its outstanding restaurants, and despite its landlocked geographical situation, can offer visitors a wonderful selection of traditional Spanish foods from all over Spain. A local speciality, called Cocido, should not be missed by anyone wishing to experience the gastronomic gems of Spain´s capital city.
