El Puntido 2004, from the Viñedos de Páganos de Laguardia, has been named best wine in the world 2008 following a rigorous selection process by the magazine Wine Enthusiast.
Popularly known as the “wine capital” Laguardia belongs to a part of the region called Laguardia-Rioja Alavesa. The region has numerous wineries and is one of the obligatory stops along the celebrated “Ruta del Vino”.
