I have always been a fan of the off-the-beaten-path type of tourism. Finding those secret corners and small town treasures is part of what makes visiting any new place so special. From November 4 through the 6 in Barcelona they are celebrating an ever growing market in Spain: Rural tourism at the Agrotur 2011. More and more people are becoming aware of the treasures that Spain holds secret away from the big cities. The trade fair brings together groups and people from around Spain with an eye to improving and sharing the possibilities for those increasingly adventurous travelers who want to delve from the beaten path. The trade show (free entrance) highlights this "alternative" tourism throughout Spain. It's exciting to see this area grow, and as the area grows so do the possibilities for a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience in the small towns and hidden valleys throughout Spain.
